A police officer was injured when he crashed his vehicle while responding to a disturbance on Friday afternoon in Lawrence, Massachusetts.
Police said officers responded to a report of a disturbance at the intersection of Marston and Canal streets at 2:10 p.m.
Authorities said there was some sort of an altercation between an adult male and two teenagers -- ages 16 and 17. The teens fled the scene and were then involved in a crash nearby. No injuries were reported.
Police said a Lawrence police detective who was responding to the scene was also involved in a crash. He and the driver of the other vehicle involved were taken to Lawrence General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The man who was involved in the altercation with the teens was taken into custody.
The investigation is ongoing and police said no other information was available.
