A man drowned while at Pine Point Beach with his wife Saturday in Scarborough, Maine, necn affiliate WCSH reports.
Scarborough Police received a report of a man who had gone underwater in the area of the jetty shortly after 12:30 p.m.
Kayakers who saw the man struggling in the water brought him to the beach on a longboard, police said.
The man was unresponsive and a responding bike patrol unit initiated CPR until addition rescue crews arrived to assist.
Police said the man was pronounced dead after about 45 minutes of CPR.
Witness said the man had gone for a walk on the jetty.
The name of the victim, a 55-year-old Scarborough resident, has not be released.
