    Man Dragged Under Van at Car Wash

    Police said the victim, who is from Middleboro, was hit, dragged a short distance and trapped under the van in the parking lot.

    A 69-year-old man was seriously injured after he was hit and pinned under a van leaving a car wash bay in Wareham, Massachusetts, police said.

    The incident happened at the Soft Touch Car Wash at 3083 Cranberry Highway around 1:15 p.m. Thursday.

    Police said the victim, who is from Middleboro, was hit, dragged a short distance and trapped under the van in the parking lot. Fire officials said they arrived at the scene and were able to lift the van off the victim, whose name has not been released.

    He was taken by ambulance to Tobey Hospital, and later flown to a Boston-area hospital for further treatment.

    Police said the driver of the van, a 66-year-old Naples, Florida resident, was not aware that the victim had been hit and is not expected to be cited.

    The incident remains under investigation.
