Man Shot to Death in Brockton, Massachusetts

Police are investigating the shooting death of a 21-year-old man early Saturday morning in Brockton, Massachusetts.

The Plymouth County District Attorney's Office confirms Edward Andrews of Brockton was found shot in the torso on the sidewalk outside 41 Haverhill St. He was taken to Signature Healthcare, where he was pronounced dead just after 1 a.m.

Brockton Police were alerted to the shooting by the city's ShotSpotter gunshot detection system.

Friends of Andrews paid their respects on on Haverhill Street, but a witness told necn he was shot around the corner on Walnut Street, then ran and fell on Haverhill.

A family member told necn Andrews was a father and, all around, a good kid.

His parents were too distraught to talk.

An autopsy will be performed on Andrews.

Officials did not say whether a suspect had been named, saying only that the investigation was ongoing.
