Massachusetts Father Hailed a Hero For Saving Daughter's Life

Witnesses say man jumped in front of car to save daughter and other man

A Massachusetts father is being called a hero after neighbors said he saved his daughter's life as well as another man's.

Neighbors of the West Roxbury man said he, the 10-year-old daughter and a man in a wheelchair were all struck by a vehicle Tuesday night on Blue Hill Avenue, near Seaver Street, just before 9:30 p.m.

Witnesses said the 40-year-old dad flung himself in front of the car, pushing the others away to save them.

"He's definitely a hero for that and I wish him well," said one witness. "I was really praying for them and I was praying for the dad because he got hurt the most."

Emoni Wornum was sitting outside her home when the crash happened.

"I'm feeling sad that my friend from my school and my neighbor got hit," Wornum said.

Each victim was taken to Boston Medical Center where they are all said to be OK.

Police said the driver did stop and is cooperating with the investigation.
