Nice Monday Before Unsettled Pattern Emerges Across Region

After morning high temperatures in the mid to upper 70s, the sea breeze kicked in around lunchtime. The rest of this evening will remain rather cool along the coast and warm inland. It’s interesting to note that the low temperature (before the sea breeze) in Boston was 70°, meanwhile in northern Maine temperatures dropped into the 30s this morning.

Showers and embedded thunderstorms will move into the area Tuesday. A quarter to a half inch of rain is possible with some locally higher amounts in the heavier downpours. Temperatures with the cloudy skies and areas of rain will only reach the upper 60s and low 70s.

Showers are again possible Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures will begin to climb out of the 70s and back into the 80s. Friday looks warm and humid. High temperatures could reach the upper 80s and low 90s – for many locations in New England it could be the first 90° day of the season.

The weather this weekend is looking promising. Temperatures Saturday will start off warm and muggy, but afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms will cool us off. Sunday looks cooler and less humid. Clouds could be a little slow to clear, but the afternoon looks nice.

Temperatures will be on the uptick once again the following week. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like there is an end in sight to the unsettled weather pattern.
