    Police: Man Badly Beat and Choked Rhode Island Woman

    Police in Rhode Island say a Burrillville man beat and choked a woman who had a no-contact order against him.

    Burrillville police say the responded to a home Sunday night, where they found the woman.

    Officials say 35-year-old Stephen Morin was arrested at a restaurant about a block away.

    Morin is charged with domestic strangulation, domestic felony assault, violation of a no-contact order, and domestic disorderly conduct. He was being held pending his arraignment on Monday in Providence.
