Maine drug agents have arrested a New York City man they say dropped a bag containing hundreds of oxycodone pills when police approached him.
Agents with the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency were conducting an investigation about 8 p.m. Tuesday when they approached 31-year-old Pierre Dupera, of Brooklyn, New York, behind a supermarket.
Authorities say when officers identified themselves, Dupera removed a bag from his pocket, dropped it on the ground and walked away.
Police say the bag contained more than 600 pills worth an estimated $20,000. Police say Dupera also had more than $5,700 with him.
Dupera was charged with drug trafficking and taken to jail where he is being held on $50,000 bail. It's not clear if he has a lawyer.
