    Police Make Arrest in Fourth of July Shooting in Dorchester

    A Mattapan man has been arrested in connection with the July 4 killing of a man in Dorchester, according to Boston police.

    A second Massachusetts man has been arrested in connection with the July 4 killing of a man in Dorchester, according to Boston Police.

    Travis Phillips, 27, of Dorchester, was taken into custody Thursday morning in Boston's South End on an outstanding warrant and charged with murder.

    On July 4, 36-year-old Deondra Lee, of Dorchester, was struck by gunfire in a drive-by shooting near the intersection of Dacia and Brookford streets shortly before 10 p.m. He was taken to Boston Medical Center where he later died.

    Police said the shooting was captured by a public safety camera. In the video, authorities said the vehicle is seen circling the block prior to the shooting and slows as the passenger opens fire.

    Boston Police are investigating two shootings that happened in the Dorchester area, with one being fatal.

    On Tuesday, police arrested Michael Carleton, 32, of Mattapan, on an outstanding warrant in connection to the homicide. He was arraigned on a charge of murder and ordered held without bail.

    In court, Assistant District Attorney Masai King told the judge the passenger of a vehicle allegedly driven by Carleton opened fire on the group.

    It's unclear when Phillips will be arraigned and if he has an attorney.
