A New Boston, New Hampshire, teen is facing multiple charges after he allegedly crashed his car into a vehicle with a mother and two children in it and then threatened them with a knife.
Adrian Yates, 19, is charged with conduct after an accident and criminal threatening. He will be arraigned on Nov. 3 in Manchester District Court.
Around 11:15 a.m. Thursday, police responded to a report of a hit-and-run accident on Interstate 293 in the area of Brown Avenue in Manchester. A mother with two children in her car said she was hit by an orange Pontiac that fled the scene. The operator of the Pontiac was later identified as Yates. He attempted to flee the scene, but the mother was able to follow him to Exit 6 in Manchester while notifying police.
While in traffic, Yates allegedly brandished a knife toward the victim and her children and continued fleeing off Exit 6 onto Candia Road. The victim followed him into several parking lots, but eventually lost sight of the vehicle.
Shortly thereafter, officers from the Manchester Police Department and troopers from the New Hampshire State Police located the vehicle on Candia Road and placed Yates under arrest.
