UMass Lowell Student Makes First Lacrosse Goal With New Prosthetic Leg

Noelle Lambert received her new waterproof prosthetic from Boston Marathon bombing survivor, Heather Abbott. (Published Saturday, April 14, 2018)

UMass Lowell lacrosse player Noelle Lambert of Londonderry, N.H., threw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Boston Red Sox game on Friday night.

Lambert was invited to do so in recognition of her return to the lacrosse field last weekend after a two-year hiatus following a moped accident that caused her to lose her leg.

Her return to competitive lacrosse during last weekend's game -- in which she scored a goal -- was assisted by the prosthetic leg she received through the Heather Abbott Foundation, launched by a survivor of the Boston Marathon bombing.
