    A driver was killed in a fiery crash in Westminster, Massachusetts, overnight Sunday.

    State police said troopers responded to the scene just after 2:30 a.m. on Route 2 eastbound, which involved a single SUV.

    The vehicle, a 2007 GMC Yukon, was going eastbound when it veered off, for reasons still unknown, to the left side of the road before crashing into a large rock, according to investigators; the crash resulted in a fire, which engulfed the vehicle.

    The driver, whose identity has not been released, died at the scene.

    Margaret Newsum, 93, had no idea that the Camp Fire was rapidly approaching her Magalia home until her caretaker left for the day and she turned on the television. She was quickly rescued by her friend Dane Ray Cummings, who decided to break company policy and rescue Newsum with his Waste Management truck. KCRA reports.
