Tax Credits Ease Cost of Worcester Housing Project

(NECN: Kenneth Craig, Worcester, Mass.) - You can expect to see more construction in the coming months in Worcester's Main South neighborhood. Lawmakers are announcing millions of dollars in tax credits, to help ease the cost of creating more affordable housing.

The affordable housing project in the Main South neighborhood has been in the making for more than a decade. Now city leaders say the fourth and final phase of the project is finally underway.

On Wednesday, city and state leaders gathered on a Kilby Street lot, a place that will soon house new apartments.

The construction made possible by nearly 4 million dollars in federal low income housing tax credits announced today.
