Open Letter From Mass. DCF Staff Criticizes Commissioner Olga Roche

(NECN) - Staff with the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families has sent an open letter criticizing Commissioner Olga Roche.

The state's DCF has come under fire for its handling of cases such as that of Fitchburg 5-year-old Jeremiah Oliver, who was last seen in September and is feared dead.

The letter opens as follows:

"We write to express our concerns for the safety and well-being of children engaged with the Department of Children & Families."

The writers of the letter outline concerns regarding directives issued by Roche's office, also suggesting that DCF's management is more concerned with statistics than quality of services.
