A woman in Jurupa Valley in Riverside County, California, learned the hard way that you have to remember where you put your engagement ring after she accidentally flushed it down the toilet.
But all was not lost. The engagement ring was found.
Carissa Wolter told NBC4 that she placed her engagement ring and earrings in a tissue while she cleaned the bathroom.
She was frantic when she realized that in the midst of cleaning that she tossed it in the toilet and flushed.
"It's like a needle in a haystack. How would you find a ring and two small earrings in a sewer?" Wolter said.
A crew helped lift the manhole cover connected to her home and they found the priceless jewelry.
They said she was lucky to have a low flow sewer main. Otherwise the ring would have been a goner.
