The families of the athletes competing in the 2022 Winter Olympics won’t be able to cheer them on in person due to COVID-19 restrictions.

As athletes stream into China ahead of the opening ceremony for the Winter Olympics, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic means their most loyal fans — their families — will only be able to watch from home.

Vermont-raised Devin Logan will be representing the United States in the Winter Olympics as a freestyle skier — for a third time.

Switzerland’s Sarah Hoefflin and Mathilde Gremaud won gold and silver, respectively on Saturday in the women’s freeski slopestyle at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games. Isabel Atkin of Great Britain took the bronze. American Maggie Voison finished fourth, while her teammate Devin Logan finished 10th.
