After a chilly start to the weekend, Saturday afternoon brings on the sunshine and seasonable warmth with highs into the mid to upper 70s- making Saturday the best day out of the weekend to get those outdoor chores around the house completed or even try out some local fall festivities.

All eyes are on Sunday- both the timing of the showers and how much rainfall we see through Monday, especially to those areas affected by the extreme drought.

Timing: Early Sunday morning, between 2-4 a.m., a chance for showers, some heavy at times will likely move into NW New England (northern VT, NH, ME). This line becomes scattered as it tries to advance south and east. However, by the afternoon, with the help of the southerly, humid flow, rain and thunderstorms will fire up again along the cold front over western MA and throughout the rest of New England by mid-afternoon, lasting into the evening hours. Rain lingers into Monday, leaving behind beneficial and much-needed rainfall for New England.

Rainfall: Early estimates suggest between 0.25” – 0.75” of rainfall through Monday evening into southern New England, with southern VT and central MA seeing the best chances for 0.50” – 1.00” of rainfall through Monday evening.
