For the first time in five days, it is not snowing anywhere in New England. We now finally resume a more reasonable May weather pattern.
The weather system that had been here the first few days of the week, is finally lifting out. But there is a new front settled across southern New England with a few showers around.
For most of New England, it is a partly to mostly sunny day, with a high temperature in the 60s. But for portions of central and southeastern New England, we have a few showers developing which will knock temperature back a few degrees. There’s not much wind, it’s light and variable, a bit of sea breeze will keep it cooler at the coast.
Any clouds will evaporate with sunset, mostly clear Thursday night, temperatures fall to 40s and 50s.
Another low pressure system from Canada will work into New England Friday, bringing a mostly cloudy day with a pretty good chance of showers, or even periods of rain with a thunderstorm across central New England. High temperature in the 50s and 60s. Driest is in northern Maine and Connecticut.
The weekend looks pretty good, at least to start. High pressure from Canada is here Saturday with plenty of sunshine and high temperatures 70 degrees, very similar to last Saturday.
Then, similar to last Sunday, we have to watch a warm front in New York that's trying spread rain back into New England. But this time, it may happen more toward later in the day, and likely further north than last Sunday. Right now we’ll call it increasing clouds with a high temperature in the 60s.
That front will be stalled over New England on Monday, with mostly cloudy skies and chance of showers and thunderstorms. It’ll become more humid with a high temperature in the 60s and 70s.
The rest of next week is also quite challenging. There will be summer time warmth to our south, and a cool Canadian air mass to our north. That means we have to keep the chance of a shower in every other day or so, with a general warming trend.
At times it may turn quite cool if we get clouds and wind coming in from the east or northeast. But just as possible is sunshine and a high temperature in the 70s to low 80s.
