LYME, Conn. (AP) - Connecticut state police are reporting a
third death in the state that happened during the weekend's rain
and wind storm.
Troopers say 75-year-old Richard Seckla drowned accidentally
Sunday afternoon in a pond behind his home in Lyme, apparently
while he was trying to move structures in the pond because of
rising water.
In Westport, police say 39-year-old Jennifer Thibault of Long
Valley, N.J., died when a tree fell on her car Saturday night.
Three passengers in the car were treated at a hospital; they
haven't been identified.
Greenwich police say a 61-year-old woman also died during the
storm Saturday night, when a tree fell on her as she and her
husband were walking in their neighborhood. Her husband has been
released from a hospital. Their names haven't been released.
