Heavy Rain Triggers Evacuations in Southeatern Mass.

(NECN) - As the waters rise on day two of flooding rains, it looks like Southeastern Massachusetts is one of the first hard-hit places. Peter Judge of the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency says 42 National Guard members and three boats have been dispatched to Fall River to help with evacuations.

Meanwhile, emergency officials are opening up a shelter at Somerset High School for people in Fall River, Somerset and Swansea who are being displaced by the flooding.

Judge says the rest of the state is not out of the woods, as heavy rain moves north this afternoon.
