(NECN/WFTS: Tampa, FL) - This weekend marks the official start of spring break at some Bay Area beaches.
Both Clearwater Beach and Treasure Island say they're beefing up police presence to make sure students and local families are safe.
Both beaches will be keeping a close eye on things.
Some spring breakers we talked to say they didn't notice the police, but they couldn't miss the chill.
Pinellas County is expecting more than 50 thousand students to stay in the area over the next month.
