(NECN: Lauren Collins, Manchester, NH) - There comes a point in a winter like this one where it's pointless to measure the snow in inches. So, how much snow is there in New Hampshire?
"It's ridiculous," says fourth grader Katelyn Krause, who's home from school again.
"You can build a big sky scraper igloo . . . totally out of snow" exclaims Jawana Swing, a New York native not thrilled with this season's snow totals.
This Wednesday wallop dumped enough on the granite state to force most schools to close and many businesses to shut down for the day, even if they never have before.
"First time in I don't know how many years that the company's been opened that they have never closed," says Robert Krause of Windward Petroleum, which told employees to stay home today.
That kept traffic light while the snowfall was heavy.
"There's so much snow that no one's around town," noted Jack Hanley as he walked down an barren Elm Street in Manchester.
City Public Works Director Kevin Sheppard is concerned. "I mean we've got so much snow our streets are getting narrow."
Manchester's public works budget was 60 percent spent before this Groundhog Day storm. Sheppard expected Wednesday's cleanup to eat another 15 percent of the city's road resources.
On the sidewalks of New Hampshire's largest community, "It's tough to walk around," says one downtown worker. "Sidewalks are at least a little shoveled."
Carlos Perez was trying clear some paths in disbelief. "No where to put it," he says. "It's unbelievable. Where we gonna put the snow?"

It's a question winter weary New Englanders can no longer answer.
"I have no where to put it," says Krause whose front windows are nearly covered by snow. "There is a garden underneath there somewhere," he says as he points to the giant pile.
