Charlie Sheen Discharged from Hospital, Headed Back to L.A.

Cops were called to New York's Plaza Hotel after actor went beserk.

Bad boy actor Charlie Sheen is headed home, hours after New York law enforcement sources said he got naked and went berserk over a missing wallet in a Manhattan hotel and was taken to the hospital.

Cops arrived at the posh Plaza Hotel early Tuesday after a caller reported an emotionally disturbed person. They found the 45-year-old  "Two and a Half Men" star drunk and naked in a trashed hotel room, law enforcement sources told NBCNewYork. Cops called an ambulance for the troubled actor around 2:07 a.m, sources said.

Sheen, who could have faced charges of disorderly conduct, agreed to get into the ambulance and be taken to New York Hospital at about 2:30 a.m., the sources said. Because he agreed to be transported, Sheen was not charged with a crime, according to a law enforcement source.

NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said no complaints were made and there was no arrest. Sheen was not expected to face any criminal charges.

Stan Rosenfield, Sheen's public relations representative, said a bad reaction to some type of medication prompted his client's hospital visit.

"Charlie had an adverse allergic reaction to some medication and was taken to the hospital," Rosenfield said in a statement.

Rosenfeld later in the day released another statement: "Charlie Sheen has been discharged from a hospital in NY and is returning to LA today. Everything else is speculation."

Access Hollywood reported that Denise Richards, Sheen's ex-wife and mother of their kids, was the one who called the cops and accompanied him to the hospital.

In her first appearance since the incident, Richards told LX New York she didn't want to discuss it.

"If Charley wants to discuss it, that's his choice... I don't want to get into it," Richards said. "It's a private matter."

She said their children "have no idea" and that she "does her best to protect them from certain things."

The New York Post reported that a naked Sheen, in a fit of rage over an apparently lost wallet, threw tables and chairs around his room and damaged a chandelier.

The Golden Globe-winning actor, who's been plagued by drug addiction and domestic-violence accusations, was in the city with Richards and their two daughters to promote Richards' new series "Blue Mountain State."

Despite the highs of his longtime Hollywood career, Sheen's repute has been tainted by a series of drug problems and assault allegations over the years. Last year cops busted him in Colorado after his then-wife Brooke Mueller called 911 complaining Sheen attempted to kill her.

In 1997, Sheen pleaded no contest to criminal charges after being accused by his ex-girlfriend Brittany Ashland of domestic abuse. Ashland alleged that Sheen grabbed her hair and threw her face-first into the marble kitchen floor, splitting her lip and causing her to need seven stitches.
