Mass. State Police: Suspect fires shots at officers in Brockton

(NECN) – Mass. State Police confirm that State Police troopers assisted Brockton Police in a pursuit of an armed suspect.

During the course of the pursuit the suspect fired at police officers before continuing to flee. That pursuit ended at approximately 12:30 p.m. in the area of Thatcher Street in Brockton, where there was a confrontation between police and the suspect.

Preliminary reports indicate shots were fired during that confrontation. The male suspect has been transported by ambulance from the scene. No other injuries have been reported.

The investigation into the incident is in its early stages.

No updates from State Police Media Relations are expected in the immediate future.
