(NECN: Turner, Maine) - An animal cruelty investigation is ongoing at the largest egg farm in New England. Warning: Some of the video in the above player may be disturbing. A group named Mercy for Animals captured undercover video from Quality Egg of New England, which is located in Turner, Maine. The group said that video shows hens stuffed in cramped cages, some of them sick and injured. Allegations also include mistreatment by the plant's workers. State inspectors searched the farm on Wednesday and prosecutors will investigate before deciding whether any charges will be filed. The group said Quality Egg is a major supplier for Pennsylvania-based Eggland's Best. Undercover video courtesy of MercyForAnimals.org.
