(NECN) - Paul Pierce held his annual charity bowling event Monday night. "Truth Strikes Again" is the captain's star-studded celebrity bowling tournament and fundraiser for his charity, The Truth Fund. Proceeds benefiting the disadvantaged youth in Boston and Pierce's hometown of Inglewood, California,
The stars were out in full force including all of Pierce's teammates as well as other local athletes. The event not only helps the charity, but also has a positive effect on the entire team.
Coach Doc Rivers says he loves when the team holds events such as this, "I think this is great. I really like when our guys do events and the players come out and support each other, I think that is very important, and our guys do a great job at that." Although it was all for a good cause, there was some trash talking in practice. Doc says that everyone was getting on Garnett before he even bowled one frame, "they've never seen Kevin bowl but they just assumed he was the worst."
Pierce says it means a lot to him that his team mates come out to his events, "when we all do something it's like we're a family... it's huge for me." Pierce explains that his fund promotes a healthy living for children, through exercising and eating healthier.
