Rapid7 CEO Corey Thomas joined NECN to discuss his cyber security company which is rapidly expanding.

Noting the recent Home Depot breach, Thomas explained the difference between normal passwords and privilege passwords. He explained that privilege passwords are the key hackers need to obtain personal information.

Thomas does not believe businesses are aware of these kinds of risks in their environment. He says that there are some companies that are hacked and don't realize information was taken from them.

In addition, Thomas shared some insight into how businesses and individuals can protect themselves from cyber crime.
