Firefighters battled a 2-alarm blaze in Boston's Jamaica Plain neighborhood early Wednesday morning.
The fire was reported at 36 Hall St. around 4:22 a.m. Heavy flames were seen at the rear of the building upon arrival. The fire started on the rear porch, and fire officials said they believe it was caused by the improper disposal of smoking materials.
Three adults were displaced, but no one was injured. Fire officials estimated the damage at $400,000.
