Authorities say two people who were on a motorcycle are dead and another person is facing charges after a collision in Easthampton, Massachusetts.
The motorcycle was heading north on Route 5 at about 3:30 p.m. Thursday when a southbound vehicle crossed into to its lane.
The operator and the passenger on the motorcycle were killed.
The driver of the other vehicle, identified by the Northwestern district attorney's office as 45-year-old James Walter Ainsworth, of Springfield, was taken to the hospital with injuries not considered life threatening. His passenger, 27-year-old Christina Dunlap of Greenfield, was also taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
Ainsworth is scheduled to be arraigned Friday on two counts of motor vehicle homicide. Police say Ainsworth was high on narcotics, and faces an OUI and possession charge, as well. Dunlap also allegedly had heroin, and police say she had a warrant for her arrest in Florida.
It couldn't be determined if they had a lawyer.
The motorcycle riders were identified as 62-year-old Edward McGrath of Holyoke and his daughter, 29-year-old Brittney McGrath of Brooklyn, New York.
