Two Springfield, Massachusetts, men have pleaded guilty to manslaughter charges in connection with a fatal shooting in the city three years ago.
James Texidor and Manuel Lora had originally been charged with murder in the August 2011 slaying of 25-year-old Jonathan Tallaj but pleaded guilty to the lesser charge.
The Republican reports that the 20-year-old Texidor was sentenced to 10 years in state prison followed by two years of probation.
The 25-year-old Lora, was sentenced to up to 15 years in state prison.
Tallaj's family and prosecutors said he was shot several times just yards from home while walking back from a neighbor's house and wasn't involved in gangs or drugs and had no record.
