Two Springfield, Massachusetts police officers have been struck by a vehicle and a passenger in that vehicle was hit by a bullet during a late night pursuit in the city.
Police say Springfield police tried to pull over a vehicle wanted in Connecticut in connection with an armed robbery late Monday night, but the car took off striking two officers. Sgt. John Delaney says the officers both suffered minor injuries and were brought to the hospital.
Delaney also said there was an "officer-involved shooting'' but did not provide additional details.
The car crashed after a chase early Tuesday morning. Delaney says the driver ran away on foot. The passenger had been grazed by a bullet and was also treated at the hospital.
No names were released. The event remains under investigation.
