(NECN) - Just hours before a scheduled strike, UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester and the union representing over 1,000 of its nurses reached an agreement.
Wednesday night, the two sides agreed on a three-year contract, which includes a limit to the number of patients assigned to one nurse during a shift and a one percent raise for a 3-year period,
This comes after 18 months of tense negotiations.
