Last of Boston Marathon Victims Leaves Mass General

BOSTON (AP) - The last of the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing being cared for at Massachusetts General Hospital expressed both hope and uncertainty as he was discharged after six weeks of treatment.

Marc Fucarile, a 34-year-old Stoneham roofer, had his right leg blown off on the second blast April 15. Ever since, doctors have been fighting to save the left leg. As he was released Wednesday, Fucarile said the leg is looking good, though he added nothing is guaranteed.

But Fucarile was optimistic, and said he's looking forward to walking again and dancing at his wedding with fiancee Jennifer Regan.

Fucarile was surrounded by family, including Regan and his mother and grandmother, as he was discharged on a stretcher. He thanked the doctors and nurses, as well as strangers for the kindness they've shown him.
