Boston Marathon Organizers and Runners Make Final Race Preparations

Finishing touches are being put into place on Boylston Street ahead of the big event

Set up continues at the finish line as runners from around the world descend on Boston this weekend. Many runners spent part of Friday at the Sports and Fitness Expo at the Hynes Convention Center picking up their bib numbers.

Tight security will be in place Monday, including 50 observation points around the finish line. Police are asking people not to bring backpacks, large shoulder bags, suitcases or coolers. There will also be 100 cameras in Boston along with undercover officers and bomb sniffing dogs.

There are a lot of activities going on this weekend, including the BAA 5K. About 10, 000 runners participated in the race.Two Americans won: Ben True for the men and Molly Huddle for the women.
