Brady to Ortiz: ‘Not Too Late to Change Your Mind'

Wishes slugger luck in final playoffs

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady jokingly implored Red Sox slugger David Ortiz not to retire at the end of the season, Monday on Facebook.

“It’s not too late to change your mind, Papi!” Brady wrote in a send-off post to Ortiz. “Let's talk.... HA.”

Brady’s post came two days before the Red Sox open their Division playoff series against the Cleveland Indians. Ortiz plans to retire at the end of the season.

“Best of luck in your final playoffs, Papi!” Brady wrote. “I've loved watching you play over the years -- no one is better than you when the pressure is on.”

The Patriots quarterback, who returns Sunday from a four-game suspension, urged his followers to support the David Ortiz Children’s Fund to send the legend out “the right way.”
