Conn. State Police Increase Labor Day Weekend Patrol

14 DUI incidents have already been reported this weekend

Connecticut State Police say they're expecting heavier than normal traffic over the three-day Labor Day weekend and are stepping up patrols.

State police are deploying unmarked patrol vehicles, aircraft and additional manpower on Connecticut highways and secondary roads through Monday evening.

Authorities had already reported 14 incidents of driving while under the influence between 12:01 a.m. Friday and Saturday morning. In addition, there were 568 speeding violations, over 1,300 hazardous moving violations including following too closely or cell phone use and 66 seat belt violations.

State police also reported a total of 137 accidents, 13 with injuries.
