Vermont State Police say a man suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol drove at 118 miles-per-hour on Route 7 in Dorset Monday night.

Police pulled over William Stuart, 34, after he was observed driving at 118 MPH in a 50 MPH zone.

Stuart was given standard field sobriety tests and a breath test indicated his BAC was .240%.

He was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI and refused subsequent DUI testing.

Stuart was ordered held until sober. He will appear in court on Sept. 21 on charges of negligent operation, excessive speed and DUI-refusal.
