4-Alarm Building Fire in Boston Displaces 5 Families

Five families have been displaced after a 4-alarm building fire in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood Friday evening.

Officials confirm the fire broke out at a 3-story brick apartment complex, with nine units ranging from 245-249 Washington Street.

Fire officials estimate that about 30 people in total were displaced.

No one was injured. Fire officials say the blaze traveled across the porches in the back of the building.

Boston Fire tweeted shortly before 8 p.m. that the heavy fire was out.

It is estimated that the fire caused bout $750,000 in damage.
