One juvenile has been arrested and another is at large after the assault of an elderly Stoughton, Massachusetts, nursery owner.

For more than 20 years, Antonio Mariano has owned a nursery on Washington Street. On Tuesday afternoon, the 70-year-old business owner was tending to his plants when two teenage males approached him.

"When the business owner was trying to process their request, they closed the door behind him and they grabbed an item off his desk and started beating him with it," said Deputy Chief Robert Devine of Stoughton Police.

Deputy Chief Devine says the two teens stole close to $1,500 dollars from Mariano's cash register and wallet.

Mariano was taken to the hospital for head injuries and released.

There wasn't a security camera installed in the office, but nearby businesses helped police arrest a 16 year old who is believed to be involved.

Investigators have also obtained a warrant for the arrest for a 15 year old from Brockton.

People in town were shocked to hear the owner of the well known nursery was attacked.
