In a timely exercise, firefighters from Cambridge, Arlington and Somerville worked with the MBTA to train for emergencies and analyze what more needs to be done to make their response better.
Saturday's drill comes just days after what the MBTA says was an overheated motor filled an orange line train with smoke - that promoted passengers to bust out windows to escape.
A smoke filled train was one of the scenarios today with dozens of volunteers pretending to be passengers.
Now that the drill is over a report will be compiled on what went right and what went wrong.
