Police are investigating after a 28-year-old man was shot to death in a Springfield, Massachusetts, neighborhood.
He was found lying near a home in Forest Park just before 2 p.m. Thursday. Authorities didn't immediately identify him.
Police haven't released a motive for the killing. Preliminary reports indicate that two cars were seen leaving the area after the shooting but it's unknown if gunfire came from either vehicle.
The Republican of Springfield reports the killing marks the city's third homicide in less than three weeks and its 17th homicide this year.
