Police say a Portsmouth, New Hampshire, man who fled after assaulting a woman and threatening police has been arrested.

The incident started Saturday when police received a domestic violence complaint. By the time officers arrived, the suspect had fled, but police say he tried to call the victim while she was the hospital and later told officers that if anyone tried to arrest him, law enforcement would have to shoot him. Officers also learned that he was an avid marksman and gun collector.

Investigators later found 70-year-old George Rinalducci at a friend's home in Dover. The Seacoast Emergency Response Team, state and local police arrested him early Sunday morning without incident.

It was unclear whether Rinalducci, who is charged with assault and violating a protective order, has a lawyer.
