Massachusetts State Police Trooper Takes Stand in Aaron Hernandez Pre-Trial Motions

Aaron Hernandez's attorneys argue he was unfairly questioned and detained at his home by state police when warrant for his phone was issued

Another Massachusetts State Police trooper took the stand on Wednesday during pre-trial motions in the Aaron Hernandez trial of Odin Lloyd's murder.

State Police Lt. Michael King testified he was supervising the homicide investigation and was at Hernandez's North Attleboro home the day a warrant was issued for the seizure of Hernandez's phone.

The former New England Patriot was not in the courtroom Wednesday, but his defense attorneys argued Hernandez was unfairly questioned and detained by state police that day, even though he wasn't arrested yet.

The defense is trying to get Hernandez's phone thrown out of trial.

Prosecutors argued it was not a case of "custodial interrogation," and that Hernandez was free to roam around his house and talk to whomever he wanted to.

The judge did not make any decision on the phone, but said she'll take the matter under advisement.

Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to Lloyd's killing and two more murders out of Boston.
