New Hampshire Man Charged with Stealing 18-Pack of Beer from Woman, Punching her in Face

Stephan Peno is also facing charges in connection with an Aug. 29 robbery

A New Hampshire man was arrested on Sunday after he allegedly stole an 18-pack of beer from a woman and then proceeded to punch her in the face during an incident earlier this month.

Stephan Peno, 20, of 2 Charlotte Ave., Nashua, is charged with two counts of simple assault, one count of second degree assault and one count of theft by unauthorized taking. He is being held on $10,000 bail and was scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on Monday.

According to Nashua Police, around 10:19 p.m. on Sept. 9, officers responded to the area outside of the West Hollis Street Market at 72 West Hollis St. in Nashua for a reported assault. The victim reported that as she walked out of the store, Peno took an 18-pack of beer from her. Words were then exchanged between the two, and Peno then punched the woman in the face.

Peno has also been identified as a suspect in an Aug. 29 robbery that occurred in the area of the bike path near Palm street in Nashua. An adult male said he was struck in the head with a bottle, and a second victim said he was punched in the head and the face and had his wallet stolen. Police said they have identified Peno as the individual who attacked the first victim with the bottle. A juvenile male has also been charged for his involvement with this case.
