PD: 2 Injured After Vehicle Strikes Pedestrian, Pole

Police in Hanson, Massachusetts, say a driver and a pedestrian were injured in a crash in which a vehicle struck a pedestrian and then a utility pole.

The incident happened around noon Wednesday in the area of 854 Winter St. Police say the vehicle struck the pedestrian and then a pole, splitting the pole in half. The vehicle came to rest in the road.

Police say the pedestrian was transported to Brockton Hospital. Her current condition is unknown.

The driver of the vehicle, a female Hanson resident, was transported to South Shore Hospital. Her current condition is known.

About 480 customers lost power in the area. Most of the power has been restored. The road remains closed as crews work to restore power.

The incident remains under investigation.
