Police said alcohol was a contributing factor in a major automobile crash that ejected two passengers on Route 15 and 176 in Maine Sunday morning.
The vehicle, a white Jeep Wrangler, was traveling from Route 15 to Route 176 when the driver seemingly lost control of the vehicle, careened into the shoulder and struck a flatbed trailer parked in the driveway, police said.
The car vaulted into a tree. Two passengers were thrown from the vehicle, while the driver was trapped inside.
One person was helicoptered to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. The second person was transported to Blue Hill Hospital by ambulance and then taken by helicopter to Eastern Maine Medical Center. The third passenger was transported to and remained at Blue Hill Hospital.
Olivia Perkins, 21, from Penobscot, was the driver of the vehicle, police said. Passengers were Torey Slaven, 22, of Slurry, and Philip Graceffa, 30, of Brooksville.
Police continue to investigate the accident.
