Parolee Arrested on Drug Charges

Police in Westport, Massachusetts, arrested a man on multiple drug charges following a residency check by the Massachusetts Parole Department.

Police in Westport, Massachusetts, arrested a man on multiple drug charges following a residency check by the Massachusetts Parole Department.

Several police officers searched the house at 1003 Sodom Road after obtaining a search warrant, which is a part of a parolee's condition of release. The search yielded $11,300 in cash, over 46 grams of cocaine, a large amount of morphine pills, oxycodone pills, suboxone pills, "suboxone strips," alprazolam pills, and several marijuana cigarettes.

According to police, the street value of the cocaine is $3,000. Police determined several baggies indicated the drugs were going to be sold. In addition, the street value of the pills was estimated between $8,000 and $10,000.

As result of the search, police arrested 55-year-old John Oliveira. He was charged with trafficking over 36 grams of cocaine, trafficking oxycodone, trafficking morphine, possession of suboxone, possession of alprazolam, and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
