Vermont State Police detectives have determined the identity of skeletal remains found near an Interstate 89 off ramp in the town of Colchester.

Authorities identified the victim as Jeffrey Ziobron of Deep River, Connecticut, on Thursday. Police said there is no criminal aspect of the investigation.

Police say a passer-by spotted the remains Wednesday and called police.

Investigators determined that based on their condition, the remains had been there for several years.

The remains were taken to the office of the Vermont Medical Examiner for identification purposes.
