Suspect Sought in String of Home Burglaries

Police say surveillance video shows a person of interest in the burglaries using a victim's debit card at a gas station

Police in Seekonk, Massachusetts, are investigating a string of recent burglaries in the area and are seeking a suspect.

The first burglary occurred on Cynthia Road early Thursday morning. The suspect used a crank on a window to gain entry to the house. The suspect took items including cell phones, handbags and a camera.

Police say surveillance video shows the suspect in the burglaries using a victim's debit card at a gas station.

The second burglary occurred early Thursday morning as well on Luther Street. The suspect pushed open a window and stole cash from a wallet and handbag.

Additional burglaries occurred Sunday night on Watson Street and Cole Street.

Police say the home owners on Cole Street were in the back yard at the time of the burglary.

Among the items stolen includes two cell phones, handbags, a camera and a wallet.

Police say they have identified the suspect and an arrest warrant has been issued. However, they are not identifying the suspect yet.

Officials urge all residents to take steps to secure their windows.
