Police K9 Helps Capture Vandalism Suspect

A police K9 in Salem, New Hampshire, helped officers capture a vandalism suspect in the neighboring town of Derry.

On Thursday, Derry Police requested mutual aid from Salem, reporting that they were searching for a man who had damaged property at Parkland Medical Center. The male then jumped off a roof at the hospital and fled into the woods.

Salem Police Officer Benoit deployed K9 Dash and within several minutes, the suspect was located hiding in the woods. The suspect, identified as 28-year-old Christopher Abbott of Derry, was taken into custody without incident.

K9 Dash recently graduated from the Boston Police K9 Academy and police say the successful track reflects their hard work and dedication to the Salem Police K9 unit.
